Yes, in the world, there is such a thing as death. Although we do prefer that the death of a person's hard work and creativity does not happen, the possibilities of a character death are still there.
There are three steps to this system:
Killing Blow:
This is the actual finishing blow used by the attacker. In order to use the Killing Blow, all the person has to do is put at the very top of the post [Killing Blow: Name or names here]. This shows that somewhere in their post, they are going to describe a killing blow to the specified people... have no fear though, it doesn't always work. Let me stress, no one can flat-out kill anyone.
Save:
In the Target's post, all they have to do is post [Save] at the top of their post. This shows that in their post, they will attempt to dodge the killing blow. After this point, Staff is needed. This can also be used by another character attempting to use Save on an ally who may be unable to defend themselves. IE: if the player is unconscious.
Staff Approval:
The Staff will discuss the attack when it is brought to their attention. To submit a Killing Blow attack to the Staff, you will need to pm the moderator of the thread you are in. After some debate and approval, the staff will decide if the Killing Blow or Save is successful, based on the RP of the attack, the effort put into the defense and other surrounding factors.
Generally, the Staff can rule that a Killing Blow attack can be altered slightly to hit a critical spot and effectively remove the victim temporarily from play, but it is possible to make an all out fatality if the defended does not show a suitable and rule-abiding defense.
NOTE: Abusing this system will result in angry Staff. A Killing Blow and Save has to be reviewed so if you post too many, then we will stop ruling in your favor, even going for a ban if you do not curb it down. Also, Staff decision on this is final. If you have a problem with a decision, PM it to the Staff and we shall explain why or if your argument is correct, then we will change our verdict.
