4d. Thread Types/How To Create A New Thread

There are many types of thread that can be used in this game. This section of the guide aims to present them all. It goes without saying to post a thread in the region that The first thing to remember is that the thread title should tell all one needs to know about the thread's type/content, in [brackets] and (parentheses). For example,

    [Main Quest]Eastward Expansion

The brackets indicate that this is a main story quest, and the actual title of the thread is Eastward Expansion. However, people who don't want a story quest will know not to look on this thread.

The types of threads so far are:

    1) MAIN Story Quests: Epic adventures prepared by the administrators that effect some world-shaking regional, national, or global change upon the world. These are somewhat influenced by the presiding administrator, so don't complain if you don't consistently get the results you want. Risks are also involved in these such as character injury or even death, so come prepared. The rewards are great, however.

    2) Character Threads (also known as Self Glorification Threads): these threads are created to show off a moment in a character's life, one that allows the creator to flesh out his or her personality, or do any kind of action. These come in two flavors: interactive and non-interactive. Interactive means that other people can join in and RP along with the thread creator, and non-interactive means that no one except the thread poster can post there, or if he/she so chooses, they can allow certain other players to post there if they want, whom they notified through private messages (PMs). If a thread is interactive, it should have a short description of what is going on at the beginning of the original post, which should be in italics. Character Development threads are characterized by and whether or not it is interactive in parentheses.

    Sample thread title:
    False Information (Interactive)

    Sample Description:
A recent rebel incursion devastated the town of Aken, and ???? was paid to investigate.

This thread is not a main story quest or an educational thread, it's just a normal thread. Others can join in the fun.

    A moment of Travel (non-interactive)

The nearby volcano began to spew ash as ???? approached from the west.

3)Recruiting, Training, or Education Threads: these are "classes" of sorts, where certain organizations or individuals are either recruiting, offering training, or some other form of enlightenment for a specific skill or membership in an organization. THESE WILL ONLY BE HOSTED BY ADMINS OR MODS, PLAYERS CANNOT CREATE ONE OF THESE WITHOUT SUBMITTING A REQUEST FIRST.

4)Clephas Special: [Special Weapon Events] are events that can only be started with the permission of an admin or mod. For the creation of certain unique weapons, these events are necessary. A specific example is the Sa'Araal, or 'weapon of will'.

    5) Entrance into a faction or organization like the Guilds or the Military after character generation can only be done through specific request and an event. Normal characters can only be a member of one Guild at any given time and progression through the Imperial ranks will require both service and training events. For the rebel factions, an entry event where the character's reason for joining is presented is necessary, though I don't require an application in that case. Note that all Guild members are subject to the professional standards of those Guilds, and breaching those standards will result in removal from those Guilds.

    6) The final type of event is a [Contract Event]. This type of event is where a character takes on a task from his or her Guild (Admins/Mods will have the right to periodically create such contracts). In particular, it should be noted that the Assassins Guild and the Mercenaries Guild provide time-limited contracts, and that to hire a Companion for a lifetime contract is considered a Contract Event. Other than the Companions, the Mercenaries, and the Assassins, however, the only Guild that requires a [Contract Event] to hire from them is the Artisans, who make customized weapons and implants by request (you have to get permission first, though).
