YOU MUST READ ALL RULES STICKIES IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS GAME. Seriously, they're not that long and they're not complicated at all. Stop complaining. Razz

4d. Thread Types/How To Create A New Thread

There are many types of thread that can be used in this game. This section of the guide aims to present them all. It goes without saying to post a thread in the region that The first thing to remember is that the thread title should tell all one needs to know about the thread's type/content, in [brackets] and (parentheses). For example,

    [Main Quest]Eastward Expansion

The brackets indicate that this is a main story quest, and the actual title of the thread is Eastward Expansion. However, people who don't want a story quest will know not to look on this thread.

The types of threads so far are:

    1) MAIN Story Quests: Epic adventures prepared by the administrators that effect some world-shaking regional, national, or global change upon the world. These are somewhat influenced by the presiding administrator, so don't complain if you don't consistently get the results you want. Risks are also involved in these such as character injury or even death, so come prepared. The rewards are great, however.

    2) Character Threads (also known as Self Glorification Threads): these threads are created to show off a moment in a character's life, one that allows the creator to flesh out his or her personality, or do any kind of action. These come in two flavors: interactive and non-interactive. Interactive means that other people can join in and RP along with the thread creator, and non-interactive means that no one except the thread poster can post there, or if he/she so chooses, they can allow certain other players to post there if they want, whom they notified through private messages (PMs). If a thread is interactive, it should have a short description of what is going on at the beginning of the original post, which should be in italics. Character Development threads are characterized by and whether or not it is interactive in parentheses.

    Sample thread title:
    The Art of War (Interactive)

    Sample Description:
After hearing rumors of a gang of wastelanders raiding a village along a river in Oklahoma, Bill decides to investigate.

This thread is not a main story quest or an educational thread, it's just a normal thread. Others can join in the fun.

    A Moment of Nostalgia (non-interactive)

While driving through the quiet, overgrown dirt paths in what was once North Dakota, Jenny remembers a moment in her childhood when her mother was still alive, and she would take her for walks out in the wilderness...

3)Recruiting, Training, or Education Threads: these are "classes" of sorts, where certain organizations or individuals are either recruiting, offering training, or some other form of enlightenment for a specific skill or membership in an organization. THESE WILL ONLY BE HOSTED BY ADMINS OR MODS, PLAYERS CANNOT CREATE ONE OF THESE WITHOUT SUBMITTING A REQUEST FIRST.

For example, the Order of the Shiny Blade may be recruiting new members, and requires that recruits be of a good alignment and in good physical condition. Evil characters won't be accepted unless they lie or trick their way in.

It could be anything, from an old Japanese man deciding to pass down his family's traditional school of swordfighting, or maybe an old boxing coach who dreamed big of winning tournaments but never made it, and wants to raise a wasteland rumbler for the fighting pits.

It could even be something as mundane as a quilting bee in some backwoods village with a bunch of old ladies.

All these events will come in handy, however. Learning a fighting style will improve one's technique, while learning to sew is a trade and can help mend a character's clothes and such, possibly even for money.

5e. How To Request New Material

Face it, everyone wants to be freaking awesome. But then comes the hard reality that awesomeness isn't just born (unless it's your raburi admin Yukarin-rin, who was eating Communism and shitting Win the moment he popped out of his mother's womb). Here's where the request forum comes in:

EVERYTHING, from really nice cars, big guns, heavy armor, special training, psychic powers, joining a faction, or any other form of special treatment, must be requested. Items that are less than 10TU in value can be found laying around. Also, VERY IMPORTANT:

ANYTHING ABOVE 10TU IN VALUE CANNOT BE FOUND RANDOMLY. IT WILL ONLY BE GIVEN BY A MODERATOR AS A REWARD OR TRADED FROM OTHER PLAYERS.

When in doubt about something, submit a request, because anything not put through the request system will end in having that concept removed and some sort of suitable punishment (either in-game or in the form of a ban/ban warning) doled out.

The Golden Rule of Requesting (Or... Red Rule...)
WHEN IN DOUBT OVER WHETHER SOMETHING REQUIRES A REQUEST OR NOT, REQUEST IT ANYWAY.

This also applies to any user generated content that has average or above membership, technology, riches, a foothold in industry, or anything like that. In short, if you want to create a cult in a small village with a handful of man-eating cannibal worshipers, that's fine. But if you want to create a hundreds- or thousands-strong cult of man-eating cannibals, or a small cult of cannibals armed with firearms or above-average value they liberated from a nearby army base, that needs to go through requests.

The request forum also handles other user created content, such as monsters, factions, weapons, armor, et cetera, that is better than the average stuff scattered about the wasteland.

Requests will be posted in the section of the Request Subforum labeled New/Pending Requests. There, they can be commented on and reviewed by other users, who can post their compliments or creative critiques as a reply. If the request is accepted, it will be moved to the Accepted Requests section. If it is rejected, you will be notified via PM with a reason on why it wasn't. If it can be fixable, go ahead and fix it if you want, but if it can't, accept the fact that you came up with a stinker and don't complain, that will just end up pissing the mods off.

Request Thread titles should be in the following format:

[REQ]Name (whatever categories the item falls under)

    So,
    [REQ]Neo-Indian Tribe w/Rocket Launchers (Faction)
[REQ]Jury-rigged double bladed chainsaw lance (Item)
    [REQ]Mutated Wombat (Monster)

NOTE THAT CHARACTER APPLICATIONS WILL GO UNDER A SEPARATE THREAD.
