Frequently called ‘wolf-men’ both for their appearance and their behavior, they are a race of large humanoids covered in large fur. Their strength, agility, and natural obedience to acknowledged authority makes them the best shock troopers and bodyguards in the Empire. Their society is stratified based on merit, which includes physical ability, intellectual ability, and leadership ability. Their leaders are those who have proven themselves dominant, and those who have done so that leave the Bhamind-held worlds are mostly ship-captains and commanders of ground troops. It is not a shame in Bhamind society to be a submissive, for submissives serve an important purpose in focusing the often violent tempers of their leaders on the urge to protect and lead. There is a higher percent of the Bhamind population in the Imperial military than any other race in the Empire. For the other races of the Empire, the Bhamind are often frightening, primarily due to their tendency to eat anything they kill… including the members of other sentient races. It should be noted that the Bhamind consider it to be near-sacrilege not to do so, as they believe it dishonors the ones killed not to eat them. One of the most extreme forms of showing contempt for a Bhamind is to refuse to eat those they have killed in battle.
It should be noted that, like the Imperial Humans, the Bhamind have their origins in the Gelaan's home universe.
